Une exposition y reconstitue \u00e0 la fois l\u2019histoire de Charlemagne mais aussi celle du d\u00e9veloppement de la ville. La l\u00e9gende et l\u2019histoire de Charlemagne constituent l\u2019un des th\u00e8mes centraux. Sans Charlemagne, Aix-la-Chapelle n\u2019aurait pas connu une telle importance historique en tant que r\u00e9sidence des souverains carolingiens, ville des couronnements au Moyen \u00c2ge et lieu de comm\u00e9moration europ\u00e9en apr\u00e8s 1945.<\/p><p>Centre Charlemagne \u2013 le nom du mus\u00e9e de la ville renvoie \u00e0 Charlemagne, a\u00efeul de l\u2019Europe et p\u00e8re fondateur de deux nations : la France et l\u2019Allemagne. Il symbolise l\u2019ouverture de l\u2019\u00e9difice \u00e0 tous les habitants et tous les visiteurs de la ville. Celle-ci se traduit \u00e0 travers le large \u00e9ventail th\u00e9matique et les m\u00e9thodes diverses et plurilingues de transmission des contenus. Le caract\u00e8re interactif du mus\u00e9e s\u2019illustre plus de 30 stations multim\u00e9dias modernes. Le b\u00e2timent est accessible sans barri\u00e8res. Un auditorium permet d\u2019accueillir des conf\u00e9rences et des projections de films. Un espace r\u00e9serv\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019accueil des groupes scolaires ainsi quedes stations con\u00e7ues sp\u00e9cifiquement pour les enfants et un laboratoire d\u2019histoire au centre de la salle
